Cindy Wong, MS, OTR/L, is an occupational therapist who specializes in hand therapy for upper extremity rehabilitation. Cindy earned her bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University in 2011 before graduating from A.T. Still University with her master’s degree in occupational therapy in 2017. She is currently registered with the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapists.
During her undergrad, Cindy developed an interest in the health care field. She was intrigued by the biomechanics of how the body works. Cindy’s interest aligned with the field of rehabilitation where she currently utilizes the biomechanical model. Prior to OT school, Cindy worked as a PT tech at Arizona Bone & Joint Specialists. Throughout her time with our team, she has expanded her knowledge base within the orthopedic population.
During OT school, Cindy explored different treatment settings, which included outpatient neurological rehabilitation and pediatrics. Still, she’s always had an interest in hand therapy prior to, and after, OT school. Currently, Cindy is focused on furthering her education in upper extremity rehabilitation, manual therapy, soft tissue mobilization, and orthotic fabrication.
Cindy truly enjoys working with the ABJ team, as she has worked here as a PT tech. Cindy also enjoys the one-on-one connection that comes with treating patients, and she feels it’s very rewarding to see patients regain their range of motion, strength, and function.
When she’s not treating patients, Cindy enjoys being outdoors, especially during the fall and winter seasons. She also loves cooking, weight training, spending time with family and friends, and occasionally lounging to binge watch TV shows.
