We enjoy hearing updates from our past patients. Many times on our blog we share stories that are from more recent surgeries, but this letter came from a patient who had a hip replacement a while ago and wanted to update us on his new life. The picture above is from their time in Phoenix, with Dr. Kassman, at a hockey game.

Dear Dr. Kassman,
It’s been 20+ months since you gave me a new hip. I am long overdo to give you an update and my thanks once again. THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME A NEW LIFE
To the update: After the operation, we drove across the US to San Diego and then to LA. My leg and sitting and the healing from the operation were appropriately handled and it was a successful journey.
The flight back to Japan was also non-eventful. We arrived to a winter wonderland and skiing the subsequent weekends was also wonderful and pain-free.
Regaining strength and balance has been my goal and I see a physio trainer once a week for that. He has been challenging me with core and leg muscle building exercises. Looking back at what I struggled to do in the winter of 2017, it is amazing how far I have come. Then I could not do a bodyweight squat without overcompensating to my right leg. This morning I was able to squat 3 sets of 10 at 50kgs with near perfect form.
Your screening, pre-op information, staff and facilities and care throughout were on-point and I knew what to expect every step of the way. There were no surprises – well, other than the good surprise that the resulting procedure has been much better than I could have ever imagined.
With thanks and great respect,
