David Prior, M.D.

Dr. David Prior is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in the treatment of injuries and conditions affecting the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. Fellowship-trained in spine surgery, he cares for patients with a wide range of spinal disorders, from degenerative conditions and fractures to complex spinal deformities. Dr. Prior is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care with a focus on helping patients regain function, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life.

A Scottsdale, Arizona, native, Dr. Prior believes that patient education is an essential part of successful treatment. He takes the time to understand each patient's goals and develop an individualized care plan tailored to their needs. Whenever appropriate, he explores nonsurgical treatment options before considering surgery.

Dr. Prior earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. He completed his orthopedic surgery internship and residency at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker School of Medicine in Kalamazoo, where he received extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. He then pursued advanced fellowship training in orthopedic surgery of the spine at the University of California, Davis in Sacramento, refining his expertise in the latest techniques for treating spinal disorders.

Dr. Prior's areas of expertise include minimally invasive and robotic-assisted spine surgery, complex revision surgery, spinal deformity correction, and motion-preserving treatment options for cervical and lumbar spine conditions. He also utilizes CT-guided navigation and performs a variety of advanced procedures, including disc replacement and fusion surgery.
